Design For The New Climate Era

The increasing number of global population in the last few centuries, alongside the technological developments and innovations, has led to an extremely significant surge in carbon footprint production. There is a direct proportionality between the thinning of the ozone layer and the raise in Earth's temperature.

Only in the last two decades major changes can be observed in terms of record high temperature occurrences. Consequences are obvious: sea levels raise, seasons change, natural disasters are more frequent and much more violent, species become extinct, draughts, poverty, scarcity, etc. The acceleration of the  anthropogenic activity turns the Earth into a gigantic microwave oven; and all together we spin around in it daily, struggling to delay this global warming.
Some are non-believers of the climate change, some are keen environmentalists, while some argue that it is all part of Earth's natural cycles and that global warming was imminent either way. The sad reality is that whether humanity is at fault or it's all down to natural causes, the planet is boiling.
Leo Hendrick Baekeland, "The Father of Plastics" -
Belgian-born American
who invented the first synthetic plastic in 1907

"The warmest point of the last cycle was around 10,000 years ago, at the peak of the Holocene. Since then, there has been an overall cooling trend, consistent with a continuation of the natural cycle, and this cooling would continue for thousands of years into the future if all else remained the same. But since 1750 however, the CO2 content of the atmosphere has deviated from the natural cycle. Instead of decreasing, it has increased because of the fossil-fuel burning. Methane and nitrous oxide have also increased unnaturally because of agricultural practices and other factors. The world has also warmed unnaturally.  We are now deviating from the natural cycle."(https://ossfoundation.us/projects/environment

Officially, 2030 has been agreed to be the year when we will not be able nor to delay and neither to reverse climate change anymore. Rob Downie, chief polar adviser at WWF UK stated in an on-line debate that: “We are the last generation that can stop devastating climate change. The world needs to be ‘net zero’ by 2050. This requires transformational change in energy, transport and food systems and the way we manage our land and oceans, combined with technology solutions to capture and store carbon.”
The growing instability of the Earth's climate imposes drastic changes, not only on a microlevel dependant on our daily activities and living towards a sustainable direction, but mainly on an industrial and economic level. The prospects on achieving a sustainable future and caring for our planet, instead of acting like a cancer or parasite devouring our host, are formally translated into global Sustainable Development Goals, or SDG, agreed by the United Nations. Again, 2030 is the time target.

It has become clearly visible in last several years that efforts are being made; from social, to  industrial levels and even educational. But will these steps actually have a real effect on global warming? Will it be enough? Will the Earth heal itself? This will have to be seen, but at least we will then know we have done everything that we could to save it and even if we were all to die in an Apocalypse, we would have a clear conscience of living responsibly.

Sol-eev

I introduce to you today a revolutionary concept in the world of laptop accessories.
The new Sol-eev is as simple as a regular laptop sleeve, but as exciting as solar energy itself!
The outside of the product is covered in a layer of strong and flexible solar fibre, shock resistant and waterproof.
It obviously prefers the sunshine as it is strongly UV absorbent.
On the inside there is a (literally) flat power bank to store all the energy harnessed, which is transmitted to your laptop via a normal USB.
Sol-eev is soft to touch, very light in weight, brilliant energy and time saver (as you are using it while your laptop is zipped inside) and it reminds you always to keep your laptop safe.
Above all, you'll always be totally ready for your meetings!

Choose Sol-eev, the eco-friendly business partner!
Now, in 2 more colours to match your tie - blue & pink!
